Exotic Dancer Magazine
ED (Exotic Dancer) Publications produces trade magazines, conventions and awards shows for the gentlemen’s club and erotic retail industries. ED (Exotic Dancer) Publications was established in 1991 by Don Waitt, who created the first-ever printed “directory” of gentlemen’s clubs (strip clubs) in the U.S. In 1993, Waitt established the Annual Gentlemen’s Club Owners EXPO (later renamed the Gentlemen’s Club EXPO), the first—and still only—national convention for the multi-billion-dollar gentlemen’s club industry. The first EXPO was held at the now-defunct Stardust Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and has been held each year since (almost always in Las Vegas, though New Orleans, Reno and Miami have also hosted the event). In 1996, ED Publications started producing/printing the only national B2B (trade) magazine for the owners and operators of gentlemen’s clubs, as well as industry vendors, feature entertainers and other business professionals. The magazine, then dubbed the Club Bulletin, was produced quarterly and was mailed to every club in the U.S. In 2000, the magazine became bimonthly and continues to be the gentlemen’s club industry’s only trade magazine (now dubbed ED Magazine). The Annual Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards Show—also known as the ED Awards—was established in 1998 and remains the only national awards show recognizing the top gentlemen’s clubs and touring “showgirl” feature entertainers.
In 2004, ED Publications established a new magazine in a separate industry. Teeze Magazine (produced bimonthly) was initially intended to be a trade magazine for models and photographers who worked in the adult retail and lingerie boutique industries, but quickly evolved into a national trade magazine for the owners and operators of those businesses (adult retail and lingerie boutiques, also known as “erotic retail”). In 2007, Teeze Magazine was rebranded as STOREROTICA Magazine and is mailed to over 5,000 erotic retail stores, vendors and industry professionals. That same year, the Annual STOREROTICA Awards were established, honoring the top manufacturers, distributors, retailers and industry professionals in the erotic retail industry. For the past several years, the STOREROTICA Awards have been presented at the ANME Founders Show in Burbank, California.
